About Solitude

2006/02/23
......Without it, there is only time. And time pushes at our backs like a centrifudge, forcing us outward and away, until it nudges us into oblivion......Like all things in the universe, we are destined from birth to diverge. Time is simply the yardstick of our separation. If we are particles in a sea of distance, exploded from an original whole, then there is a science to our solitude. We are lonely in proportion to our years.

-P.237, Chapter 15, from The Rule of Four

Although it is sad, somehow I agree with this.

Beautifully written - but I think of time as folds on over the other. I know that our minds only comprehend the linear passing of time - but our souls can experience jumping through the folds of all time. This is called memories.
